Reflection
As children of God, we are to embrace the love of God in all sincerity and truth. If we say that we hate our brother who we can see and claim to love God who we cannot see, we fool ourselves and God’s Truth does not bear fruit in our hearts. If we can bear to be false to our hearts, we are falsely loving God. We do not fool God because He is the one who searches our hearts and penetrates into the deep recesses of our soul the truth of our nature (Hebrews 4:12-13). We choose to fool ourselves out of fear of uniting our very selves to God. Yet, our hearts are restless until we rest in God, when we are truthfully one with His Love, Mercy, and Truth.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
—Colossians 3:1-4
