Is there someone in your family who has traced your family history? Most of us in this country can go back maybe three, four, five generations before we lose track of where our ancestors came from- Italy, Germany, Mexico, Africa. But when it comes to faith, we are part of a very big family with lost of history, starting in the first book of the Bible, the Book of Genesis. Many generations ago God made a covenant, or promise, with Abraham that came to be fulfilled with Jesus Christ. So Abraham is like our great-great-great-great (keep adding “greats”!) grandfather in faith. And Paul often wrote letters to new Christians he visited, referring to them as “brothers and sisters…”We are blessed that our families are part of this worldwide family of faith.
Dear God, we are thankful to be part of your family of faith.
